The family of Petty Officer James W. Evens, USN has requested the presence of the PGR at his services to be held on 30 July 2010 in Collinsville, OK.
 
Graveside services will be held at RidgelawnCemetery (Hwy 20, west of Collinsville) @ 1000. There will not be a Chapel service.
 
Services will be directed by the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home, 1000 S. Lombard Lane, Skiatook, OK
 
Petty Officer Evens joined the Navy in 1973, eventually serving on the USS Ainsworth, a Knox class frigate which made many ports of call and served in a number of Operations and exercises, throughout the Caribbean,  Mediterranean and Middle East. PO3 Evens received his Honorable Discharge in 1979.
 
James Evens was employed by American Airlines in Tulsa, Ok.
 
Staging: 0815 @  Sien-Shelton Funeral Home, 1000 s. Lombard Lane, Skiatook, OK (Intersection of W. Oak & N 25th W. Ave.)
 
Note: Due to possible parking conflicts with another service scheduled for that day, staging may actually take place at the Baptist Church on the west side of the Funeral Home
 
Briefing: 0830
 
Escort: 0900
 
Graveside Services: 1000
 
The Riders will form a Respect Line to honor PO3 Evens when transfer to the hearse occurs. We will then escort our Hero to the RidgelawnCemetery, where a flagline will be provided.
 
Weather: Sunny, high near 97. Dress appropriately for the heat. Pay attention to your condition. There is very little shade available at Ridgelawn.
 
Flags and Water will be provided. Be sure and drink sufficient water to keep hydrated.
