Three Sands Regular Meeting
December 26th, 2007
Jim Gentry, President called the meeting to order with 19
members present. David Buntt, Chaplain, gave the invocation.
David Buntt, 1st and Jerry Johnson 2nd the motion to waive
the reading of the Secretary and Treasurer’s reports due to time
issues.
Old Business: The Christmas party went well considering the
weather. 2 bags of toys were collected and donated to the
Salvation Army for the annual toy run. 5 Shades of Gray played
for entertainment. The band donated a guitar for the auction
and sold for $450. Also other auction items brought $475. The
band donated their $300 fee back, and total raised for Nathanial
Delaney was $1625.00.
New Business: January 1st at 10A.M. leaving from Dan
Moran Park will be the annual Dresser Jack Ride. They will
leave and ride as a group to Sooner’s Corner in Perry.
Discussion was held on a new meeting place for monthly
meetings. Pizza Hut and the Conestoga were mentioned.
Charles Criner 1st and P.J. 2nd the motion to move the monthly
meetings to the Conestoga at Highway 60 and I-35 starting in
January. E-mails will be sent out on the new location and also
in the newsletter. David Buntt, 1st and P.J. 2nd the motion for the
Chapter to pay for 2 rooms for the State Meeting in Altus
January 11-13.
2008 Elections: Jerry Johnson stepped down in the running
for the State Rep, and said he would be the alternate if needed.
Following are the final results for the following officers:
President: Charles Criner
Vice-President: Brook Bullock
Secretary: Dawn Canaday
Treasurer: Recia Buntt
Sgt. At Arms: Joe “Red” Baldwin and Rona Stephens
Preliminary results for other officers are as follows and voting
will be closed on January 2nd:
Public Relations: Jim Gentry
Road Captain: Garry Canaday and Charles Foster
Chaplain: David Buntt and Lance Falen
State Rep: Charles Criner and Mike Laughlin
Newsletters need to be mailed out monthly. Some are not
getting the e-mail copy. A note needs to be attached asking if
you would like the newsletter e-mailed or regular mail.
Discussion was held on purchasing a rubber stamp with the
Chapters address and also a letter folder. To save on the cost
of mailing and envelopes. Dawn will check on the stamp and
Recia will check on the paper folder.
Jim Stephens brought up to possibly have a benefit concert
for the American Legion Children’s Home sometime this
summer. He asked if we could supply the manpower to work
the event. Everyone was asked to come up with some open
dates. Tabled until January meeting.
David Buntt won the 50/50 pot ($17.50). With no further
business motion 1st Garry and 2nd P.J. to adjourn the meeting.
